Promoting a “Secondary” Caregiver to “Primary” Status

The “primary” caregiver in DAISEY is simply the caregiver profile all other family profiles are linked to. If family circumstances or composition changes, users may choose any caregiver as the “primary.” Before utilizing this feature, please check your program guidance as this may impact data displayed in reports.

To promote a caregiver from “secondary” to “primary”:

  1. Navigate to the Family Activities Page (see Accessing Family Activities).
  2. Find the secondary caregiver to promote in the Family Association Grid near the top of the page.
  3. Click the green Make Primary button next to that caregiver in the Status column (see image below).
Note: The caregiver who was previously the “primary” will automatically be demoted to “secondary” status. DAISEY only allows one primary caregiver for a family at any given time.
